OK, OK
Not much going on in the land of Lou. Had a little miscommunication at the pharmacy Saturday wherein the pharmacist was unaware of the insurance company's decision to change the way my medication was counted. I ended up paying more than $200 for my migraine meds and freaking out because the pharmacist explained to me that my "insurance company has decided that it is no longer going to pay for the medicine." Because I had a migraine at the time (it was an emergency visit to CVS) and at any moment was going to vomit on the floor, I yelled at her that I would need to have that medication now and that I would pay for it, all $200+ of it. She wasn't too friendly to me either, saying that I needed to find an alternate medication because it was too expensive. At any rate, I calmly (no seriously, I was calm) consulted my insurance company today, and it turns out that the way pharmacist imputed the amount of medication -- he/she (there were 2 people) put in 6 because 6 doses come in the box --it looked like I was trying to get 6 BOXES of the medicine. OK, so I get the confusion, and of course if I were an insurance company I would red flag that. But here's what I don't get. When I spoke to the insurance lady today it seemed as if this was something that was happening frequently and it was super easy to pinpoint the problem and resolve. (I get my money back except for my regular co-pay). However, Pharmacist number one explained that he spoke with my insurance company. Why the hell didn't he receive the same info? And why was pharmacist number 2 such an ass? BS CVS pharmacists.
