Poor decision making skills

I made myself go for a run last night even though my body felt exhausted. Now I have a giant headache.

Also as a direct result of said running, I missed meeting Mike at the bar. He was there alone.

Oops.

Being a Mrs.

Whew. Well, we did it. As you all know. And we got back. And rested and ate more and picked out a new buffet/sideboard that totally rocks. We put the wooden chicken that we got as our memento from Santa Fe on top.

Being married doesn't feel a whole lot different. Everyone keeps asking me that. I would definitely absolutely say that I am happy. Happier. Joyful ;) I like it. Of course. But I was a little irritated that Mike wouldn't carry me over the threshold. Pansy.

I should've kept a journal on the trip, because there is so much ground to cover, and I don't know where to begin. With Paige showing up with pink eye, my mom getting altitude sickness, rolling into the local roadhouse with a 3-month-old, Alberto and Ben as the dueling drunks, Dave's awesome new hat, and racing to the Lamy train station, things didn't get boring. I absolutely fell in love with New Mexico (you thought I was going to say my husband, didn't you? But I was already in love with him). The landscape is amazing. And being up on that mountain, away from the city, looking at a clear sky with all of the stars at night, and the clean air. Just awesome. We watched sunrises and sunsets. We drank beer and margaritas and champagne. We ate chocolate covered strawberries. We became aware that consecutive meals involving green or red chile might not be the best idea for a sensitive stomach. We climbed up steep ladders into the ruins of cliff dwellings and then down into a kiva where tribal meetings were once held. We bought some jewelry. And the wood chicken. And a woven rug. We saw paintings by Georgia O'Keefe, and then saw the landscapes she painted first hand.

I can't wait to go back. I can understand why they call it the land of enchantment.
